Abstract

One of the most prominent and important issues in Islamic jurisprudence is the issue of resistance and steadfastness. This meaning came under the title of (defense) in contrast to (jihad), and these are two well-known chapters in Islamic jurisprudence among all Islamic sects and schools of thought. The consequences of the ominous marriage between the systems of political tyranny in the Islamic world and the systems of global arrogance in the West, political, economic and military dependency, scientific and academic inability in many regions of the Islamic world, the cancellation of people’s will in their political destiny, the crowding of prisons with young people, the physical liquidations that included many of the sons of this nation, orphanhood and bereavement, ignorance, illiteracy, poverty, economic inability, cultural and scientific backwardness, and... all of these unfortunate cases require resistance, (resistance awareness), (preparation and readiness for resistance), and the dissemination of (resistance culture), positive resistance, negative resistance, popular resistance and armed resistance. It is (resistance) the appropriate tool that is not used other than it in confronting political tyranny from within, and military occupation and political influence from abroad. Accordingly, this article presents a cultural analysis of resistance from the Islamic point of view in order to shed more light on this subject than before, and to be a beacon for the resistance and to weaken the plans of the arrogant.
