Abstract

Amir Khusrow Dehlavi was one of the prominent figures of his era and was thoroughly familiar with both Indian and Iranian cultures. Following his spiritual master, Nizam al-Awliya, he addressed many religious, mystical, epistemological, and ethical subjects in his poetry. He sought to create a positive intellectual foundation for his audience. Amir Khusrow also strengthened the cultural link between India and Iran, and the influence of both cultures is visible in his verses. Therefore, given the importance of the subject and Amir Khusrow’s significant status, this article, using a descriptive-analytical approach, examines Amir Khusrow Dehlavi’s literary position and the reflection of divine attributes and the prophetic visage in his book Matla' al-Anwar. The study concluded that Amir Khusrow is one of the greatest Persian-language poets of India and that his poetry has distinct features and a unique style. He invented a style that later became known as the Indian style in subsequent years and periods. In Matla' al-Anwar, Amir Khusrow was able to emulate Nizami’s Makhzan al-Asrar. The book Matla' al-Anwar is rich in religious, mystical, and ethical knowledge, and its descriptions of God Almighty and the Prophet Muhammad hold a special status.
